Spencerman on Fire with IWB:

flameani

Luke is a teacher on Stage 1 at St Joseph’s and wanted to know ‘what was new on the IWB’ for his Mentoring Session. Well, to loosely quote Chris Betcher - ‘you can do old things in old ways or old things in new ways or just get on and do new things in new ways’ . Luke obviously wanted something NEW for his Mentoring Session.

I was pretty sure that Luke had not experimented with the Record Play Back  feature of the Interwrite Board. So I reminded him of it’s possibilities

untitled2  Record and Playback

This tool will record your voice (if you have a microphone on your computer) as well as your annotations on programs you have running on your screen. It’s a great tool to make your own tutorials for your students.

So we attached a headphone set and opened up the gallery to find some appropriate and stimulating resources. That’s when Spencerman caught fire. He saw possibilities and assessment activities for future engagement with this tool and his lovely students.

Here are a few examples he put together in only  20 minutes with his eager young students …

1. Morgan’s ‘Zac’ Story

2. Michael’s sentence

3. Abby’s Number Line

What new things are you willing to take on and use in new ways? Good luck and congratulations to Spencerman. He is now officially on the presenters list for or Interactivity 3 Conference in the Lismore Diocese in December!

MOODLE

moodle

Recently I created some MOODLE courses for the teachers in the Clarence Region. These courses, as well as other great Primary courses, are now available for all teachers in the Lismore Diocese. Currently, I have been experimenting with Judy’s class in the GOLD course as I am not sure how to grade whole classes and upload assignments. I am on a learning curve too and have to keep three steps ahead of the teachers using the course! Next term, I will create a MOODLE course for our school called “ASSIGNMENTS”. This course will be a ‘no frills’ course where students can learn how to upload their assignments for Yr 5 and Yr 6 in preparation for secondary assignment responsibilities. Next term, I hope to get a CANBERRA course created if Stage 3 teachers wish to use it for a few months.

So what is MOODLE – I prepared this presentation for you using ISSUU.com:
